Fall Dinner
Reflections on Harvard from the Perspective of the President of the Board of Overseers
Karen Nelson Moore ’70 HLS ‘73
If you want the inside scoop about what’s happening at Harvard, beyond the 12 members of the Harvard Corporation, the Board of Overseers is the most tuned in group. At this year’s Fall Dinner, we have the great honor of hearing from the current president of the overseers, our own Karen Nelson Moore. Don’t miss it! Karen’s bio is the kind we lesser mortals dream of. President of her senior class at Radcliffe in 1970, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude.
Three years later she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. After working as a Jones Day lawyer in Cleveland, she became a professor at the Case Western University School of Law in 1977. In 1995 President Bill Clinton nominated her and the U.S. Senate quickly confirmed her to be a federal appeals court judge for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati. This year is her 20th on the bench. Karen’s talk is titled "Reflections on Harvard from the Perspective of a Member of the Board of Overseers." We hope to see you there for this special presentation.
