Private Tour at the Cleveland Museum of Art: "Filippino Lippi and Rome"
Experience this special exhibition with its curator, Alexander J. Noelle, the Henry and Anne Ott-Hansen Family Associate Curator of European Paintings and Sculpture, 1500–1800. Then enjoy conversation and refreshments in the lobby of the CMA's restaurant Provenance.
Learn about the artistic processes and iconographic ingenuities of one of the most gifted and accomplished Renaissance painters, Filippino Lippi. The exhibition examines Lippi’s transformative period in the Eternal City (1488–93) and its lasting impact on his oeuvre, and juxtaposes his Roman artworks with their Florentine precursors and successors.
The exhibition features the CMA’s newly restored masterpiece "The Holy Family with Saint John the Baptist and Saint Margaret," along with works from other major institutions, some of which are on view in the United States for the first time.
